Picture this....

There you are, studying in the law school, when
ALL OF A SUDDEN
you hear your professor's voice coming down the hallway
right
at
you!

What do you do in this delicate situation?

Have no fear! I have the answer!

First:
Open the book that corresponds to the professor's class

Sometimes this takes planning. Say you are studying Evidence when you hear your Ethics professor coming. Be sure to have the Ethics book on the table ready to employ this tactic at all times!

Second:
Furrow brow and bite lip while staring intently at whatever page you opened.

Third:
Highlight whatever sentence you can get to until the professor has passed.

You're done! You have impressed your professor with your studiousness and s/he will surely reward you with an A when s/he reflects upon  her/his observation of your studying!
