Homemade Pizza Time

We hinted at it in our last post, so I thought it was about time to show you the results of our homemade pizza extravaganza!  And since we've been experiencing some bad weather, I'll make this story match the mood:

It was a dark and stormy night in Washington, DC... Blake, a young man braving the weather on the 8th floor of an apartment complex, picked up a box of Bisquick from the pantry with biscuits on his mind.  However, fate intervened and led to so much more!

Though they usually go unnoticed, one of the recipes on the back of the box caught Blake's eye: a homemade pizza with crust constructed from Bisquick.  He meant to dismiss the idea, but it held his fancy like nothing else that night.  After repeatedly trying to ignore it, the persistent desire for pizza caused him to mention it to his adoring wife.  With an enthusiastic smile, Catie read the recipe and quickly calculated that all of the ingredients...coincidentally... were already in their possession.

With haste, Catie set about making the crust, while Blake worked on the toppings.  Like a dance, Blake improvised the spices and worked the savory chicken, twirling it all around on the pan until good smells filled the apartment!
Catie deftly added the mozzarella, and Blake--remembering the quality of his past experiences with pizza crust--affixed a fair amount of garlic and italian herbs to the cold, uncooked meal.

Little did they know how great this would turn out.

What they pulled from the oven not only changed their dinner, but also the course their lives were on.
Well maybe that last part was a little too dramatic.  Either way, the pizza was delicious!
