Georgetown U visit

So yesterday, Catie and I were feeling rather stir crazy and decided to make our first walk to my school. Being only .8 miles away and a straight shot through a beautiful residential area consisting of town-homes and row-houses from the early 1900's, it was both scenic and pleasant. We finally arrived at the steps leading up to my medical building, as seen in the photo below.
We then headed to the back of the building to see if we could find an entrance that wasn't connected to a keycard.
We were able to enter at the farthest door on the right and proceeded to explore the ins and outs of the building! This was the first time I'd actually been inside the school since my interview. After our visit, we walked around some more and went into the student center, bookstore, and walked around some more. The campus is beautiful and is the home of the national historic landmark Healy Hall built in 1877.
The south side of campus can also be seen from across the Potomac River in Arlington, Va.

The school has been featured in a number of movies, television shows, books, etc. The most prominent example is the 1973 horror film, The Exorcist, featuring a climactic scene involving a staircase that has since been named the "Exorcist Steps", seen here as innocent steps in the daylight and as creepy, haunted ones at night.

In total, it was a pleasant visit and I can't wait until I start school here! I'm looking forward to making a lot of memories and getting a quality education that will allow me to become a great physician.
